This panorama shows a regenerating aspen stand one year after being burned during the Blue Fire in the South Warner Mountains. Conifers dominated this aspen stand prior to the wildfire, and aspen density was very low. These aspens are responding to the opened canopy, increased soil nutrients, and warmer soil temperatures that are a result of the wildfire.
