Aspens Regenerate After Fire Sidney Smith and Marty Yamagiwa explain the effects of the Blue Fire that occurred in August 2001 in the Modoc National Forest. The fire was extremely hot, and had destroyed many of the aspen and conifer species present. The aspens have dramatically regenerated by the fire.
