Johnson Creek is designated as “Critical Habitat” for the endangered Modoc sucker. Modoc suckers are pool dwellers in small, often intermittent, headwater streams in the Upper Pit River watershed. This area of Johnson Creek provides excellent habitat and is an example of a stream that is in desired condition.
